*) NUMBER OF TFR PLAYERS TOP 300 RANKINGS
**) TFR PLAYERS 10Y RANKING

NOVEMBER 26, 2017 - Brazil has been dominating South American football for the last decade.

Half of the South Amricans who in the period have made it to the TFR PLAYERS at least once are from Brazil. A total of 289 South Americans have made it, and 147 of them are Brazilians.

Argentina has had 75 players in the top 300, Colombia 20, Uruguay 17 and Chile 12.

But when it comes to top class players, Argentina has been much stronger than arch rivals Brazil for the last ten years. In the TFR PLAYERS 10Y for South Americans, Argentina is represented by five players and Brazil only by two - the same amount as Uruguay. In the top six four players are Argentinians.

Brazil has for ages been a top producer of attacking world class players, but for the last decade the picture has been totally different. The two Brazilians in the South American top 10 are full backs.

Lionel Messi is of course in the top spot, and Daniel Alves is 2nd ahead of Luis Suárez. But Alves is only six points clear of Suárez.

The 2nd best South American in the present TFR PLAYERS rankings, Neymar, is in the 11th spot.
