Germany's top performer in 2017 enters top 10

MARCH 7, 2018Joshua Kimmich has for years been one of the most promising German talents, and he obviously has no problems living up to the high expectations.

In 2017 he was a central figure in Germany's Confederations Cup victory, and at the age of only 22 he was crowned German Player of the Year.

Now he is taking yet another important step towards appreciation from the global football society by entering the TFR PLAYERS top 10 - only one month after having turned 23. He replaces Dries Mertens, who drops out after eight consecutive months in the ranking.

At the top of the ranking Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski are still in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd spots respectively. Neymar drops from 4th to 5th spot and is replaced by former team mate Luis Suárez.

The top 6 players have now been in the top 10 for an unbroken period of 22 months.

The TFR COACHES top 3 is unchanged since last month with Pep Guadiola being the toughest challenger to Zinédine Zidane, Diego Simeone and Ernesto Valverde.

In the TFR TEAMS top 3 Real Madrid surprisingly have regained the top spot after only one month in the 2nd position. In La Liga they have underperformed this season, but in the competition with toughest competitor, Barcelona, they have a Champions League title and a World Cup title in their advance.
