DID YOU KNOW ?

Jérôme Boateng was the first German international to get sent off on his debut.

On June 23, 2010, he and his brother, Kevin-Prince were the first pair of brothers ever to play on opposite teams at the World Cup as Kevin-Prince represented Ghana. The game ended in a 1-0 victory for Germany.

His father, Prince Boateng, left Ghana in 1981 hoping for a break in Germany where he wanted to study administration. Instead he ended up working two jobs, one as a disc jockey and the other as a waiter.
