DID YOU KNOW ?

Butt is known for taking penalty kicks. He scored 26 goals in the Bundesliga.

Butt was chosen for Germany' squad at both UEFA Euro 2000 and for the FIFA World Cups in 2002 and 2010. He made his first competitive international appearance on July 10 2010, appearing in the 3-2 win against Uruguay in the tournament's third-place playoff.

On April 17, 2004, after scoring a penalty in a match against Schalke 04 , Butt turned away from midfield and began to enthusiastically celebrate with his teammates. Immediately after he raised his hand to signal readiness (while still jogging back toward his net), Schalke player Mike Hanke shot the ball from the halfway line and scored on the oblivious keeper.
