DID YOU KNOW ?

Cavani is of Italian descent, his paternal grandparents being originally from Maranello.

He moved to Montevideo at the age of 12, and came through the youth system at Danubio.

In January 2007 Cavani finished the U-20 South American Championship as top scorer with seven goals in nine games, helping Uruguay to finish in 3rd place.

He scored a goal in his debut for the senior national team in a 2-2 tie with Colombia.
